The Way We Work
Worthing Cat Welfare Trust is always seeking secure, loving homes for the dear little furry friends in our care. All cats and kittens offered for re-homing will have been vet-checked, vaccinated, microchipped and (age permitting) neutered.
We visit potential adopters to gauge whether that home would be a good match with one of our cats and then we invite adopters to come and meet their preferred puss.
When looking on our website for cats needing homes, it is so easy to pick the one where it says: “Lovely cat, very affectionate, wants to sit on your lap, well-suited to a family home.”
But what about the cat that reads: “This cat will need time and patience to settle in and is not very friendly at the moment.”
The truth is that all cats need a loving, forever home. Most of the cats with the latter sort of description have huge potential to develop into the former as time goes by, provided that their new owners have the patience and understanding to release the sweet little soul that lurks behind that slightly grumpy exterior. It is only the past sorrowful experiences of this world that make these cats so cautious and they really do deserve a chance for a happy new life.
Also it’s important to be aware that cats take a while to settle in to their new environment, so don’t be surprised if they aren’t exactly as described by us during those early days with you.
We offer an additional advice line to help you understand your new pet’s behaviour in the
early days. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any issues of concern via email-
